SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- The Carnival Cruise Lines company is denying speculation that a Saratoga Springs teenager was served alcohol before dying aboard one of its ships.
18-year-old Seth Younes died around 3 a.m. Tuesday.
Carnival Cruise Lines says he was found dead in his cabin on the last day of an eight-day voyage. The company says it contacted the FBI, as is standard practice in these circumstances.
In a statement the company said:
"With regard to speculation that he may have died from alcohol poisoning, we can confirm that, based on the preliminary investigation, there is no indication he was served any alcohol by shipboard personnel."
The company also says there is no foul play suspected and extends its deepest sympathies to the family.
