ALBANY, N.Y. -- Good news for those looking to file their 2012 taxes. You will now be able to file your taxes for free in downtown Albany.

A new, free, self-assisted tax kiosk opened at the Empire State Plaza Concourse Thursday morning. The new kiosk will help individuals and families whose income is below $57,000.

Eligible taxpayers can file electronically for free and can also receive free assistance from state tax department employees and other trained volunteers.

"Financial stability is important for not only the individuals, but our local region. If the family can be more economically stable then our region can be more economically stable," said Beth Anne Smith, CA$H Coalition Director.

The kiosk is located at the plaza's North Concourse near the Key Bank.
