MONTGOMERY COUNTY, N.Y. -- State police arrested three people who they say have ties to the seizure of more than 50 dogs in Montgomery County.

Earlier this month, State Police were tipped off to a barn in the Town of Minden on State Route 5S. They say they found over 50 dogs there, mostly pit bulls, living in a filthy unheated barn.

The dogs were suffering from various health issues, including frostbite, open sores and worms. Removing them all took two days and the help of several animal shelters and agencies.
