MASSACHUSETTS -- For the first time, Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick has presented a budget proposal that includes gambling licensing revenue.
The state estimates it will gain $83 million in licensing fees from the three casinos and one slots parlor allowed under the new gambling law.
The Massachusetts gambling commission hopes to begin granting those licenses later this year and early into 2014, although it still could be several more years before a gambling facility actually opens for business.
