Waterfront workshops in Poughkeepsie

By: Web Staff

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- The first in a series of public workshops will be held Thursday night to discuss the future of Poughkeepsie's waterfront.

During the meeting, the public will get to hear about plans for an elevator connection
between the waterfront and the Walkway over the Hudson.

Other topics to be discussed include a new Upper Landing Park along Fall Kill Creek and a proposed Gateway zoning district around the Parker Avenue entrance to the Walkway among other projects.

The workshop will include small group sessions to ensure everyone gets a chance to contribute their ideas.

Tonight's meeting will take place at the Cunneen-Hacket theater at 12 Vassar Street in Poughkeepsie. It begins at 7:00pm.
