SULLIVAN COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Sullivan County man has been arrested after police say he stole checks from a Mountaindale resident over the past several months.

Police say Alain Delmont, 44, of Woodburne, stole the checks, forged and then cashed them throughout Sullivan County.

Delmont allegedly stole $5,300 in total from the victim. He's facing several charges, including grand larceny and forgery.

Delmont was sent to the Sullivan County jail with no bail set.
