NEW YORK STATE – A New York law that allowed hunters to hunt big game with crossbows during the gun season expires on Monday.

The law has been in effect for the past two years during big game seasons. The law's expiration also means hunters with physical disabilities will once again have to apply for a special permit to use special archery equipment.

Two weeks ago, Governor Andrew Cuomo vetoed a bill that would have extended the law for two more years.
