COLUMBIA COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Greenfield man is in some trouble after police say he caused a ruckus at a local bed and breakfast where he wasn't even staying.
State Police say Jason Bennett, 38, was already drunk when his driver left him on the side of the road in rural Columbia County. That's when, according to police, he wandered into a Canaan bed and breakfast.
While inside, police say he began dialing guest rooms from the main switchboard. They say he also lit a smoky fire in the fireplace, which set off smoke alarms and drove the guests out of their rooms.
Bennett now faces trespassing charges.
