POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Dogs are often referred to as man's best friend. And a 10-year-old golden retriever is proving that to be true.

The therapy dog, named Dutchess, was introduced to students at Dutchess County Community College to help students de-stress and relax during finals week. The pup's owner said the dog is completely blind.

But that doesn't stop his four legged friend from helping others.

Mark Condon, Professor of Biology and Co-Founder Canine Link, said, "People are drawn to her. They have questions about her. I think when you visit people in hospitals or various facilities, they see this dog who is happy-go-lucky and gotten past her physical restrictions. She isn't afraid to continue to do what she has always done."

Canine Link is a not-for-profit organization that provides service dogs to health care and educational settings.
