Two arraigned on felony assault charges after fight at SUNY Sullivan

By: Web Staff

LOCH SHELDRAKE, N.Y. -- A man and a woman were arraigned on felony assault charges after a fight that sent a Sullivan County Sheriff's Deputy to the hospital.

Deputies say Jacynta Knox was involved in a fight in the cafeteria at SUNY Sullivan. They say when the deputy tried to break it up, Nashoba El Kedar got involved to help Knox. The deputy was kicked in the head, bitten and kicked in the groin, but is expected to be okay.

Knox and El Kedar have both been expelled from SUNY Sullivan and an order of protection has been issued to keep them off school property. They're being held at the Sullivan County Jail and are scheduled to appear in court Wednesday afternoon.
