KINGSTON, N.Y. -- The Hudson Valley is gearing up for an old Dutch tradition. This year's Sinterklaas Celebration kicks off Saturday in Kingston.

The Festivities begin at 11 a.m. and include performances from local entertainers, wine tasting, and more. The Children's Maritime Parade steps off at 3:30 p.m., and ends as the kids send Sinterklaas across the Hudson River, where the celebration continues in Rhinebeck. The "bi-coastal" festival boasts several events over the next couple of weeks.

For those attending Saturday's Sinterklaas festivities, there are some parking restrictions to be aware of. There will be no parking between Spring Street and West Strand. There will also be no parking at the meters from the entrance of the Rip Van Winkle Boat Cruise in Rondout Landing, to the end of the Hudson River Maritime Museum. All restriction will be in effect from noon until 5 p.m.
