Plaza skating rink opens Friday
ALBANY, N.Y. -- It is almost time to hit the ice.
The skating rink at the Empire State Plaza opens this Friday.
The rink will be open seven days a week from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m.
It's free to skate. Skate rentals are $3 for children under 12 and $4 for adults. But there will be free skate rentals every Friday, courtesy of Hannaford Supermarkets.
The ice rink originally opened on December 17, 1976 for the first holiday festival at the Empire State Plaza.
