COLONIE, N.Y. -- Some upstate trash collection sites are making some extra cash from Superstorm Sandy cleanup efforts.

The Town of Colonie landfill in Albany County could make as much as $432,000 for receiving construction debris from Sandy cleanup.

Colonie's landfill is allowed to take 3,000 tons of trash every day until the end of December.

New York State, the DEC and the Army Corps of Engineers approached different municipalities all over the state asking them to take care of the excess.
