KINGSTON, N.Y. -- 19 people become American citizens in Kingston. A naturalization ceremony took place Friday at the courthouse in Ulster County.

The new citizens were surrounded by friends and family as they took their oaths. One man says after going through paperwork, interviews and tests he is very proud to be a citizen.

"It is very exciting. I wait for a while and go through the process. It was nerve racking all that stuff but when I passed my test, it was a big sigh of relief," said Jy-Yeong Wu, a new American citizen.

This was the ninth naturalization ceremony in Ulster County.
