ALBANY, N.Y. -- Police surrounded a home in Albany in their search for a shooting suspect. A 36-year-old man was shot on the 100 block of Second Avenue around 7:30 p.m. Officers believed a suspect was in a home, but when they forced their way in, nobody was there.

"A gentleman was shot over here, believe he was shot in the shoulder. We believe the suspect ran across the street. We checked the residence, and that's negative right now," said Lieutenant Edward Donohue, Albany Police Department.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment. There is no word yet on how serious the injuries are, or what led to the shooting. Police are still searching for the suspect.
