STATEWIDE -- Law enforcement from across the state came together for some special training for police dogs. Trainers set up a number of exercises for the K9s, including sniffing for narcotics or explosives, and also working with police horses.

One deputy said the training allows different agencies to share their ideas and expertise.

"Different resources normally we wouldn't have to train with. Like, in this case, we have horses and dogs doing civil obedience or riot control," said Sandy Blodgett, K9 Trainer-Rensselaer County Deputy.

Law enforcement throughout New York, Connecticut and central Massachusetts took part.
