COLONIE, N.Y. -- Runners stepped off in Colonie this morning to raise money for disaster relief.
The Siena College's Red Cross Club held their 3rd annual Race for the Red 5k run. More than 300 runners preregistered to compete in the 5k run or two mile walk.
Runners lined up to raised money for the local Northeastern New York Red Cross Chapter that services as far as Plattsburgh, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. The proceeds will go directly towards funding both local and international disaster relief.
Over 400 participants running ran in this year’s race.
