SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- GlobalFoundries is one of many employers taking part in a job fair at the City Center in Saratoga Springs. The computer chip manufacturer is expected to bring thousands of jobs to the area when construction on a new plant is complete.

A company spokesman for GlobalFoundries says there are 350 local jobs currently, with that number expected to nearly double by the end of this year.

The President of the Capital Job Development Group says having the company at the job fair helped attract more people.

Peter Jones, President of the Capital Job Development Group, said, "GlobalFoundries has not been in any other job fair yet. That is really a big draw. We have some of the health care facilities and Saratoga agencies. A lot of the people are really thrilled that there are people willing to help them with their resume. Help them online and figure out what they want to do."

The job fair was organized by the Capital Job Development Group.
