EAST GREENBUSH, N.Y. -- We have an update on the missing girl from East Greenbush. According to East Greenbush Police, Hannah Smith, 16, contacted her family and friends Thursday night through Facebook.

Police say Smith's current location is unknown. She was last seen around 1 a.m. on January 1st at her East Greenbush home.

Smith is described as five-foot- five and 115 pounds. She has brown hair and green eyes.

Smith was involved in a serious car accident back in 2009 and did suffer a brain injury. Her family says they think that's part of the reason she ran away.
